Welcome

Welcome to all allotment holders and gardeners and indeed, anyone who is thinking of renting an allotment plot and enjoying the huge benefits involved. Sutton Allotments are in the small village of Sutton In The Isle, near Ely in Cambridgshire, UK and are divided into two areas. You can visit Plot 2 here. Our resources page covers details of our specific location, together with links to other interesting websites and places. We also have a guestbook, so please do feel free to add a message that you wish to share with others, maybe a handy tip. Thank you.

The members area is for Sutton Allotment holders only, if you wish to access this area then please email for a password first, thanks.

To the newcomer; allotments are wonderful places where people of all ages and backgrounds can get some exercise, have a natter, soak up the sun and listen to birdsong, at the same time as growing good food and flowers.

So why do it?

  • Allotments are also able to offer a social side, where you can meet new friends, enjoy a healthy outdoor life and a place to relax and unwind. The image of the flat cap and whippet are now a world away from what has been suffered in the past and now people of all ages, and walks of life, are digging in.

  • Allotments don’t have to be hard work and are a great way of taking exercise during the year. The many advantages include growing fresh vegetables, fruit and flowers free from pollutants and at a fraction of the cost paid in todays supermarkets.

So allotments are the best way to ensure that the food you eat is organic, without any pesticides and chemicals being added, whether it is fresh fruit, vegetables or flowers, allotments are significant to our green spaces and provide habitats for many forms of wildlife
